SpiderPlow announces the successful completion of its first project of plowing 4-inch rigid steel pipe. This project completed in the Rimbey area of Alberta for Anderson Energy Ltd. and Carco Pipelines, resulted in the flawless installation of 2.6 kilometers of 4-inch rigid steel pipe in approximately 4 hours of plowing. The project site included plowing over hill sections. Upon completion of the plowing procedure, routine testing of the installed pipe proved that the pipe was maintained at, or deeper than, the minimum required depth of 5 feet and that the pipe was in perfect condition. As is typical for pipe installation by SpiderPlow, ground disturbance was significantly less compared to that of conventional pipe installation methods.
The project was completed using SpiderPlow’s new patented steel plowing chute, specifically designed for this application by Walter Fockersperger GmbH of Germany. This chute is designed to work exclusively with SpiderPlow’s latest plow, the “FSP 220” – the largest and strongest SpiderPlow in the world.
